I had a virtual interview with Juliet, aka Juliet -fashion designer-Stimpson:
Me: Juliet! What have you been up to this year?
Juliet: So Hannah, I am juliet which you probably already know. I'm just finishing my final year and majoring in knitwear which has been lots of fun, I think that if hadn't majored in knitwear I would have had a much harder time producing my collection because what mainly kept me focussed was learning about new ways to do things, how to knit the fabric, etc, I think because if I'm not learning new things then I get a bit bored!
Me: Fab, and what are some of the quirkiest things about you that people may not know?
Juliet: I collect unusual cameras...I have three different polaroids, an oktomat which has 8 lenses that fire 0.2 seconds apart, a half-frame camera which pretty much uses half of a normal sized frame so a normal 24 frame film will take 48 photos and when theyre printed out have two images on each print...however i dont have a digital camera at the moment because I'm very very clumsy and have dropped and broken two in the last year!
Me: And the big dreams?
Juliet: What are my big dreams...well i dont have anything like a five year plan with things to be ticked off, and in fact I'm not huge on plans at all but there are some things I would love to do.
I enjoyed living in Amsterdam so so so much and miss it heaps that I think at some stage I will go back to Europe and hopefully live and work there for a couple of years however I have no idea when...could be next year, could be in 5 years, could be in 25 years!
I also would love to own a shop some time in the future, stocking lots of awesomeness - cool (but not overpriced) vintage, and up-and-coming young designers, and foreign magazines, and neat jewellery and that also has a little tea-house bit off to the side with cup cakes and yummy slices and mis-matching tea cups! Mostly my biggest dream of all is just to be happy and always have lots of fun!
Me: The future is bright Miss Stimpson!
