Remember the crowded elevator gig I went along to a few weeks back? I was SOO excited to see Good water as a sponsor: [yea yea, thats the bottled water bottles made from plant stuffs...]
Ahhh and I loved this instillation...
And when I had my photo taken I made sure I had a bottle in hand!
Ok, it continues! So you know I love the product and wanted to promo it - little did I know that one of the camera's snapping my pic were reps from Good water! It was a few days later my blogging companion Manda filled me in on this piece of info.. hahah!
Since then I've been chatting a bit with Mel Smith from Good water and she kindly has given aych a bit of background so you too can get excited about this project * :-)
The Good story, where did it begin?
Grant Hall (who is the founder of the organisation) has been in the bottled water business for 10 years. But it wasn't until recently that he discovered that none of the plastic bottles he was helping produce were actually being recycled in NZ. It was the discovery of this fact, plus investigation into the damaging effects that plastic has on the marine environment, which inspired him to produce and promote a bottled water product made from natural, sustainable resources.
How does this motivation to do "good" affect each part of the business?
The Good Water Project is a 100% ethical and sustainable and transparent business. We don't have any secrets, we share our knowledge with all our competitors, and we commit to making sustainable and ethical choices within all the business practices we encounter on a daily basis.
Where is good water available?
Good Water is now available at all the Star Marts in Auckland and Wellington which are located in the CBD, it's at the large New World supermarkets, organic stores nationwide, all the popular clubs in Auckland, plus it's available online via our website www.goodwater.org.nz
Who are some of your fave modern eco heroes?
To be honest , Grant Hall is my eco hero! Plus Sir Peter Blake (who was the main inspiration behind The Good Water Project) and my good friend (who is also a beauty blogger) - Stephanie Coulter.
