Look at the sweeeeeeet lightshade I made today *:-)
It has been Christmas Craft day at my place - the tree is up, the fairy lights are blinking and oragami christmas creations are deocrating the mantel. With all the recession talk do you think there will be a general trend towards handmade festivities? I have been struck with the fever!
Craft was always my best subject *:-)

I am OBsessed with Tokyo Dandy DOT com AND the ever delicious creators Dan and Joe.
"We created www.tokyodandycom to bridge the gap between the runway and the street, Harajuku parties and High fashion receptions, all to the soundtrack of our favorite music celebrating the creative people who inspire us and make pop-culture what it is today."

Goodness! Have you SEEN this snazzy Casio Calculater Watch that is TV REMOTE?!!
My friend Dan is a bit of a hilarious character - always got an adventure up his sleeve. As you can see he has embraced Movember and is giving the boys around the office a run for their money.
AHHHHH THE WATCH! As Dan puts it when he was younger the rich kids in class all had the snazy shoes and rad watches... so now he is all grown up and working he now owns snazy shoes and THE coolest watch. Next up on his list? A lego pirate ship. *:-)

You MUST watch the behind-the-scenes video of Vogues Art Issue due out in December. Grace Coddington and Annie Leibovitz in all their glory!
Love the Hantzel and Grettel shoot with Lady Gaga as the Witch *:-) If only I could walk around town in nothing but a large white coat....
As a wierd coincidence I've been watching Sex and the City Season One and love the scene at a baby shower when Miranda explains to Carrie that the Witch from Hantzel and Grettel had it all figured out. The lady had just built her dream house and these kids come along and start eating it! bah! Continue...

O the deliciousness the AUT School of Art and Design graduate exhibitions! The glory of so many distinct ideas in the practice of visual arts and fashion design/textile design housed in the WM building on St Pauls St this evening left me gobsmacked!
Lovely evening tonight at the opening - I was so overwhelmed by all of the glorious faces I need to make another trip back to pick my faaaaavourites *:-)
Make SURE you check out the students work over the weekend at 40 St Pauls St, Auckland City.
(Someone let me know what time its open each day? Need to go back and absorb it all!)
Congratulations to all the graduating students and the honours/masters students - What a year! x Continue...

These two delicious fashion souls have backgrounds in menswear and this colaboration has been busting to take place. Mat told me a bit about the journey....
The concept came about as most do, over beers, a bottle of wine and a sewing party in my workspace. We decided that we should stop talking about working on a project together, just make a deadline and actually get sewing.
We both make a lot of clothes and bags for our friends, mine being my full time job. It was decided that we would put together a range of one-offs garments we want to wear right now and be able to sell them off at a reasonable price
So the deadline and store is happening next weekend, the 14th/15th of November out of our workspace on the corner of Bayard Street and Ponsonby Terrace from 10am.
This project is not about making millions of dollars but about working in a debt free organic way, with one project's proceeds funding the next creative endeavour. But most of all, getting our clothes out there and being able to work together with other emerging creative artists and talented friends
We're all ready in the planning to expand our 1/1 Pop Up Store concept to a store in March 2010 to include recent fashion graduates and being able to offer a space and relevant context to sell their work within
What a breath of fresh air! I can't waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait!!!! mmmmmmmm!!!! Put on your dancing shooooooooooooooes and get ready to looooook goood!

I am dreaming about glitter.
My family have always said "To find Hannah follow the trail of glitter". Fabulicious... maybe Richie Rich and I were meant to be BFF afterall *:-)
I think the glitter obsession stemmed from my LOVE of fairys and magical creatures... I love the divine beauty of fairy illustrations and the gorgeous gowns they wore.
I have found an amazing online art gallery/community called redbubble.com. Inspired by these sparkling images....

I was flicking through a stash of old magazines and look at the little discovery I made....
At the Trelise Cooper Kids show at Fashion Week this year I recieved a complimentary copy of the OHBaby magazine. A fitting brand relathionship I thought. Put the magazine aside to flick through later.
In the DAZE that is fw I didnt notice that an A4 COPY of the current Spring cover was GLUED to an older Winter issue.
OH TRELISE YOU DIDN'T!
A bit of a grey area legally as the magazine wasnt sold or exchanged for other goods. BUT WHAT CHEEK! Veeeeery misleading...
I guess the question is whos idea was it?
Trelise? OHbaby? PR? Elcheapo assistant given goodie bags on task list? Continue...
