NZFW Day 3

I have no idea where today went! Fabulous company and wonderful presentations *:-)

Today had three stand out shows: Twenty-Seven Names, Salasai and Stolen Girlfriends Club.

Day 3 Highlights

1) Twenty-Seven Names = In-cred-i-ble.

What a beautiful collection! Awkward adolescence meets school uniforms meets pretty girls with knobbly knees. Amazing. I am in love with the cropped blazer (top photo far right) and Letterman jacket (bottom photo far left).

2) Salasai = My new fave Kiwi label!

Glorious androgyny! Beautiful oversized cotton shirts, kilts, plaited knitwear and an incredible grey floor length pleated men's skirt. Black/white and cream palette executed with absolute class. Garments were fresh, innovative and well presented.

3) Stolen Girlfriends Club = wedding of the year!

In true SGC style guests sipped energy drinks and wine from jam jars pre show at Auckland's historic Mercury Lane Theatre (now home to Equipers Church). I kept lustfully peeking at the custom designed SGC Mini that was parked in the foyer - please please to the powers that be can I have a mini???? The AW '11 collection featured an amazing pair of low crotch mens trousers in what appeared to be a red leather that I NEED!... searching for images NOW! The runway show finished with a wedding and cannons of confetti fired into the audience - great energy and excitement all round!

Also featured in the collection was a tee stating "I belong to the stolen generation" ... waiting for a reaction.. cheeky but very naughty... Do I even need to ask how this will be recieved in the Australian market?

Not-so-high-lights:

- Wearing silly tights that didn't stay put!

Today was thoroughly amazing!

Thank you so much to FW organisers, PR's, hosts, designers, stylists, makeup+hair teams, exhibitors and special guests for collaborating on an amazing celebration of New Zealand design! I am so incredibly blessed to be along for the ride + I can't begin to explain the joy in my heart!!!
