Bon voyage Annemiek!

I have just said goodbye to my looooovely friend Annemiek who is off to the fairer shores of Canada. Ashwini and I are very sad... we cant believe its been just over two years since we all lived together in Toronto.

Annemiek is my go to girl and I'm going to be a bit lost without her! No phone calls along these lines:

"Heey! It's me... Ash and I will be there in 20min... what shoes are the girls wearing? Oh it's a shoes off at the door situation?... Fab see you soon!"

There is something so precious about this kind of friendship! LOVE you truckloads pretty girl!

Strawberry fields forever...

I am in LOVE with all things strawberry licious at the moment - and to my DELIGHT look what I found in our wee garden last night?

Yummmmmm!!!

I once owned the most amazing pair of pink strawberry earings that I picked up for a couple of dollars at the Eaton Centre. I lost one somewhere in the depths of a Toronto club and it was a devistating moment.

The week I lost my earing I saw Accross The Universe and fell in love with strawberries all over again! This motif is a powerful icon as a story of love, art and beautiful interactions transforms into a tale of distress, fermentation and loss.

It's SUUUUUUMER TIME! My cousins in Glasgow are snowed in (-20 degrees) while my younger cousins in Kiwiland are swimming in +20 degrees ocean water every day, DELICIOUS!

Love this el cheapo necklace I bought to go with my New Years outfit. Ahh the irony of it all makes me giggle... remember all the contro re SGC and their AW09 collection title?

On a side note I've been spending a bit of time in the garden recently - Feel SO alive surrounded by bugs and birds and weeds and flowers.

Gardening breaks = blueberry and banana smoothies. Blueberries are great for memory function and DID YOU KNOW Bananas contain serotonin? Sounds like the ultimate exam combo!

Will post some pics when some of our goodies are in bloom. I'm reading The Green Beauty Bible at the moment and getting super inspired about natural goodness. Ha how does an avocado facemask sound as a new profile pic?!

Alber Elbaz for Chanel?

Dear friends,

I had the most inspirational dream!

I was seated front row at the first collection Alber Elbaz designed for Chanel (remember this is fictional) just in front of BryanBoy and next to Patty Huntington.

Lights dimmed and the show began.

The models imitated manequins with auckward movements and limbs that didnt quite bend. They had crazy hyped up smiles and walked with their heads at a 45 degree angle to their shoulders.

Dresses were sheer brushed cotton in forest greens and indego blues. Intricate shaped panels made up the sleeveless sheaths that gave the illusion of wearing a jigsaw puzzle.

As the models took their final walk Alber took his bow and politely greeted the front row asking "Any Questions?". He took a model aside and proceeded to explain to all who were close that we must "Always choose the dress that is GOOD for you". OH MY!

After the polite 30seconds the venue emptied while Bryan, Patty et moi reviewed the show shedule for our next move.

Is Kaiser Karl about to reveal? Lanvin et Chanel? O lala....

Bienvenue 2010!

Hope you welcomed 2010 in style with your favourites - after a mad dash (with aprox 40 seconds to spare) we made it to Albert Park to watch the Sky Tower fireworks. Really neat to be singing Auld Lang Syne (and dancing away) underneath the fireworks *:-)
