The lovely Camile posted this clip earlier today - how cute!

Post-it notes record my life! You know that age old saying you should keep a note book by your bed to record your great ideas/dreams? Many a great thought comes to me while reading/dreaming so little notes get plastered all over my walls. I woke up this morning to this note above my head: "Buy an easel, become an artist". Great idea.

Aqua grace

I've been really good this week by swimming and getting active and I was reminded of just how alive I feel in deep water. Like a ballerina or something equally as gracefull and beautiful. The image above is of actress Han Hye-Jin in a shoot for the June 2009 edition of In Style. I'm reading Fred Vormel's book "Vivienne Westwood - Fashion, perversity and the sixties laid bare" at the moment - what an inspiring life! Gosh I hope to one day be as revolutionary as Westwood - no one would have believed she would become a icon in her own right in the 60s with a babe on one hip and Malcom McLauren on the other.. 2010 is shaping up to be a year of BIG ideas... very inspired!

Fairy Britta

I am a HUGE GoGirls fan!

How precious is Britta! I love her fairy outfits, her belief in fairy magic, her love and her quest to generally be an amazing person. I cried a little when I watched the season 2 finale! My favourite line from the show was this exchange between Britta and Brad:

Britta: Amy was a princess and I'm just a fairy.. And I'm not even a fairy anymore...

Brad: Maybe you should consider the fact that you're a princess AND a fairy.

All my life I have loved stories of magic and adventure! I had the most beautiful illustrated fairy address book when I was little and I would dream of wearing such pretty dresses.

My two favourite books that my Papa had to read me were "The Enchanted Wood" and "The Magic Faraway Tree" by Enid Blytton. Throw in the CS Lewis chronicals and you can imagine how glittertastic my dreams as a little girl were! Maybe this is where my love of fashion began? Hopefully this sheds light on my Lady Gaga obsession!

Saturday night: Our dear Amber turns 22. Wonderful. So she hosts a delicious birthday party with proper invites sent in the mail. A small group of well dressed young adults arrive at the beautiful abode of Abecca and are blown away by the pretty decorations (candles/fairy lights/cupcakes everywhere) and fab company.

The fondue is prepared and we are waiting in eager anticipation for what is set to be an amazing dessert. We have an assortment of goodies, everything from loose marshmallows to amazing fruit+liquorice kebabs, just WAITING to be dipped...

I am sitting in the lounge with Theo being entertained by a story of one of his latest adventures (probably about a raucous night that ended with near hospitalisation) when the room turns orange. FIRE!

Due to few blurry seconds we all would have been toast if it had not been for the quick thinking of our teacher/nurse/theology student friends... gosh they are good in a crisis!

Seriously - never leave cooking unattended. It could end like this or this. Or like a scene from a Lady Gaga video like Amber below...

Amber is pretty but FIRE is no joke.

DO NOT DRINK AND FONDUE.

Amy and Noah

Dearest friends,

I have been ill this last week and I apologize for my absence. But fashion still goes on! My precious friend Amy got married to her American lover Noah yesterday - it was so special to celebrate their special day in New Zealand (much to her mother's delight I am sure!)

How amazing and wonderful it is to be reminded of how precious love is! In our world that is saturated in tragedies and bad news I find it so surreal to be surrounded by joy and celebration. Amazing. Thank you to the families for hosting such an amazing day and all my love to you Amy and Noah as you start your new life together xxx

Cute petite fille!

Ohhh the fabulous Nathan from my French class has just introduced me to this little munchkin! How gorgeous she is!!! I WANT BEAUTIFUL FRENCH BABIES!!!

I looked after a gorgeous little French Canadian girl when I lived in Toronto and one day we had a communication breakdown and she got quite distressed... turns out she needed the bathroom but my toddler French wasnt up to scratch! Eventually she mimed what she wanted - Poor little thing!
