If your in the U.S of A I hope you tuned into the premiere of the 22nd season of The Simpsons because my fave Kiwi singer/songwriter duo Flight of the Chonchords feature!
Jemaine: "I've seen more life in the Wellington Botanic Gardens!"
Bret: "That is a heckle but if you're not from New Zealand it loses some of it's sting
Jemaine: "How much?"
Brett: "Well most if it?
Jemaine: "Do you think they wont know the reference?"
Brett: "If they did know the gardens they would know that they are teeming with life"
*swoon*

Aych loves Casie Stewart
One of my fave parts of the last week was getting to have an amazing time with my internet crush Miss Casie Stewart! These two pics were snapped by the amazing Venus for her awesome website Party Of Wolves. You should check her out and follow because I think she is delicious!
Look at the crazy awesome gift that was hand delivered from Toronto to me from Casie? So precious! How I miss Toronto in all of its dirty glory! I'm going to keep working hard so I can keep dreaming big.. how inspiring and motivating fashion week was!
A huge HELLO must also go to Derek Fabulous who has been another incredible friend made this week. The glitter just sparkles off him! So follow Casie and Derek and Venus on Twitter because they are amazing/clever/lovely!

NZFW Day 3
I have no idea where today went! Fabulous company and wonderful presentations *:-)
Today had three stand out shows: Twenty-Seven Names, Salasai and Stolen Girlfriends Club.
Day 3 Highlights
1) Twenty-Seven Names = In-cred-i-ble.

Glorious androgyny! Beautiful oversized cotton shirts, kilts, plaited knitwear and an incredible grey floor length pleated men's skirt. Black/white and cream palette executed with absolute class. Garments were fresh, innovative and well presented.
In true SGC style guests sipped energy drinks and wine from jam jars pre show at Auckland's historic Mercury Lane Theatre (now home to Equipers Church). I kept lustfully peeking at the custom designed SGC Mini that was parked in the foyer - please please to the powers that be can I have a mini???? The AW '11 collection featured an amazing pair of low crotch mens trousers in what appeared to be a red leather that I NEED!... searching for images NOW! The runway show finished with a wedding and cannons of confetti fired into the audience - great energy and excitement all round!
Also featured in the collection was a tee stating "I belong to the stolen generation" ... waiting for a reaction.. cheeky but very naughty... Do I even need to ask how this will be recieved in the Australian market?
Not-so-high-lights:
- Wearing silly tights that didn't stay put!
Today was thoroughly amazing!
Thank you so much to FW organisers, PR's, hosts, designers, stylists, makeup+hair teams, exhibitors and special guests for collaborating on an amazing celebration of New Zealand design! I am so incredibly blessed to be along for the ride + I can't begin to explain the joy in my heart!!! Continue...

NZFW Day 2
Highlights from Day 2:
WORLD! OHMY GOSH! I died!
We were treated to a lovely afternoon tea at the Langham hotel...
... followed by a catwalk show on a raised stage that ran through the centre of our gorgeously decorated tables. The raised catwalk was SPARKLING with glitter and colour! My three fave looks from the WORLD AW '11 collection:
Not-so-high-lights
Slipping on the concrete inside the Westpac tent. I recovered (hopefully gracefully) but now I'm nursing a little bit of a hobble. On the bright side I can now report that the onsite St Johns team are amazing and have "instant ice" available for such situations.
Having to leave Nom*D (epic sad face). After many fabulous conversations and photos pre Nom*D at Shed 6 I couldn't stand the pain in my foot and due to my height I wasn't going to be able to see any of the standing-room-only performance. So sad. I did however see the top of Michael Whittaker's head (that boy is so gorgeous) and the guests who could see were captivated by the action on stage.

Spring fields

Oh sunny days when the flowers bloom!
Lazy afternoons, books, iced tea and long chats.
Will you dance with me in the spring fields?
We can giggle and frolick and twirl and giggle!
Lets run away to fields of green! X

I love you Gaga
Wearing a dress from Alexander McQueen's last collection HRH Lady Gaga made her royal walk down the white carpet at the VMAs today. She scooped up 8 awards at the Video Music Awards including video of the year!
Stefani Germinotra had four special dates to the VMA's - A U.S airforce Sargent, a U.S airforce major and a U.S army sargent who were all discharged under "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and a West Point cadet who resigned in protest to this descriminitory policy. Wikipedia defines D.A.D.T as "the common term for the policy restricting the United States military from efforts to discover or reveal closeted gay, lesbian and bisexual service members or applicants, while barring those who are openly gay, lesbian, or bisexual from military service."
Gaga is lobbying the U.S senate to repeal this archaic and discriminatory policy (and encouraging her little monsters to do the same). Tweeting from the event HRH wrote: "Silks, fabrics, shoes + jewels, fashion dreams + breaking rules. Real heroes on my arm, tonight, is for us monsters, and our fight. X."
I love you Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta.

10 Sleeps till NZFW!

SUPER excited for New Zealand Fashion Week in 10 SLEEPS!
SO many exciting things are taking place over the week I can barely contain my excitement!
HAVE YOU HEARD CASIE STEWART and RUMI NEELY are visiting? Tres cool!
I'm looking forward to the Starfish show that opens NZFW on Tuesday morning - what a great illustration of the way Laurie Foon and team have pioneered the green dream with their concious cloth designs.
Kathryn Wilson is also exhibiting her licious footware on Tuesday with a runway show that I'm super excited for (teaser for her collection below).
All the usual players will be exciting (Cybéle for the win) AND how could I forget Celine Rita and JIMMYD!
xx yummy xx

Capatalism: A love story
"Capatalism: A love story" by Michael Moore looks at the impact of the 07 financial crisis and the subsequent bailout packages that lifted large banks out of financial strife while leaving workers without jobs and owed wages.
Narated with Moore's deadpan humour this flick is food for thought,

NZNTM - Episode 5
OH I loved the concept behind this week's photo shoot for the "Smoking - Not our future" campaign "supported by more Kiwi celebs than you can shake a stick at". NZNTM host Sara Tetro is featured in one of the campaign posters below.
Patty Hutington of Frockwriter touched on the perils of the fashion industry and nicotine addiction in her article on Miranda Kerr featuring in Vogue Italia avec cigarette (while possibly pregnant) (click here).

My two fave shots were of Elza and Danielle - striking, powerful and clear:

Love and thoughts to Danielle - she received the news of the death of a friend in this week's episode... much glitter to you xAnd how precious were Amelia's parting words?
"Chase the dream not the competition"
LOVE!
