Let me woo you with my pearly whites x

Look what my lovely flattie gave me! The Environmental Toothbrush is 100% biodegradable made from sustainable bamboo. DREAM! I feel really sad when I recognize pointless waste in my life (plastic razors anyone?) so finding an affordable way of making good purchases makes me sparkle a little bit more. Check these words from the website of The Environmental Toothbrush:
"In Australia, over 30 million toothbrushes are used and disposed of by Australians each year, amounting to approximately 1000 tonnes of landfill each year. The plastic they’re made of won’t break down in our lifetime. Nor within the lifetime of our children. Imagine that on a global scale.
Invented by a Brisbane dentist, The Environmental Toothbrush is a simple solution. Made from bamboo, a natural cellulose fibre, they are 100% biodegradable, environmentally sustainable, and do not pollute the environment. The amazing growth and self-renewing ability of bamboo means that deforestation is not necessary either. Even our packaging is bio-degradable."
At AU$36 for a box of 12 they are cheap as chips!

Also available in single boxes in Auckland from the SAFE store in St Kevins arcade.

Fluro Party at Candy Bar

I went with my lovely Frankie and Pia to the Candy bar Fluro Party last weekend and had stack loads of fun dancing under the UV lights. I want a bubble machine!

Check out the wee dress I made (pictured above right).

As you can see my obsession with neck frills and bright colours is still alive and well!

Marcel Wanders for MAC Cosmetics

Photobucket
OH HAPPY DAY!

A lovely parcel was waiting for me on our kitchen table this morning from MAC Cosmetics with few wee treats (pictured above) from their yummy colab with Dutch industrial designer Marcel Wanders. I have a good feeling about today!

Wanders dream of creating "art out of everyday objects" is reflected in his packaging design for MAC. Angular jewel like casing and fluid curves in a black high gloss finish certainly embody this artistic vision with elegance!

Wanders describes the inspiration for the collection as stemming from the Dutch painter Vermeer and his work "Girl with a Pearl Earring" (pictured below):
"He is the most important painter in the world to me - to revisit his work was fascinating. It's such a contrast with the way we work now, which in the last few hundred years has become so mechanical. Vermeer is relevant to me because he represents the idea that there's an interesting story to tell if you look to you world in a more poetic and loving way. Designing beauty packaging immediately made me think of the painterly connection...We are creating striking tools for women to paint and make themselves beautiful"

The MAC & Marcel Wanders limited edition luxe collection is available in New Zealand on December 13th at MAC Chancery, Auckland.

Can we please live in a hippy village and drink organic tea all day long?

(LtR:) Phoung (Americano)/  Me / Sarah (the Irish pixie)
In the last few years my life has been a giant airport.  Lots of wonderful friends travelling into and out of Auckland leaving sparkling footsteps in my heart.

You know the saying that the best of a country are the ones that travel? I definitely have had amazing adventures this school year with Canadian (*pause...* amazing encounters), American, German, Irish, Scottish, English, French and Swedish friends here on exchange semesters at the University of Auckland.

(LtR:) Christoph (the hip-hoff-anator from Deutschland) and Ash (resident Wellywood hipster)
It's that time of the year when all of my fabulous travelers depart for their respective homelands so I've been saying lots of goodbyes this week. It's sad but so exciting at the same time! So thankful to have had such memorable adventures!

There is something precious about being in the same place in life and standing on the edge of all our different upcoming adventures together with wide eyes and big dreams...

When I grow up I want to be Tinkerbell's sidekick

Happy December!

I am itching to put up our Christmas tree but we are going to wait one more week. Our house is going to look like a glitter box exploded!

This tweet from @SuperetteStore made me smile:

Franklin Road is a residential street in central Auckland that is covered in Christmas lights for the festive season. The neighbours out do each other every year! Tonight the lights will be lit at sunset (8pm) and the street will be filled with festivities including a caroling choir *:-) If you are in Ponsonby remember to also check out the Telecom Christmas tree in Western Park. So many cheap dates!
