I'm not feeling like blogging much about pretty dresses at the moment with our little country mourning the loss of many loved ones... BUT what I am excited about is the way that social media platforms can be used for awesome good during this tragic time.

SO let me share this need coming out of Christchurch:

Two of my friends have adopted nine Christchurch refugees (one girl left the city with just the clothes on her back) and they are all in Auckland now looking for jobs in the hospitality industry. They are a group of travellers from the UK over here on their big adventure... The super lame thing is that they don't have family here SO I'm hoping that with all of our networks (plus the Internet) we might be able to scope out some possible employment opportunities/interviews for these young and bubbly bartenders.Do you run/work at/frequent an Auckland bar/cafe/restaurant looking for new staff ?

Broken bricks and breaking hearts

Please send your thoughts and prayers to Christchurch New Zealand as a 6.3 magnitude earthquake has just ripped through the city. 

Emergency services are urging people to only use telephones for emergency calls only. Severe aftershocks continue to rock the city with "multiple fatalities" reported. So many updates becoming available on Twitter (#chch #eqnzcontact #eqn).

Watching images from my Melbourne hotel room and so proud to see such love and compassion by strangers helping other strangers on the street.

My heart is bleeding for you Christchurch and I'm sending you all my glitter.

Best Female Pop Vocal Performance - "Bad Romance"

Best Short Form Music Video - "Bad Romance"

In a tweet from Nicola (Haus of Gaga) on behalf of our lady describing Her Royal Highness'special mode of delivery she divulged Gaga's fashion colaborators for the evening:

"This is Nicola, Haus of Gaga: Gaga is in incubation. Tonight's performance is in collaboration with Hussein Chalayan and House of Mugler. X"

Our Queen of Pop gave one heck of a performance!

Icy blonde little fairy

 

I have FINALLY gotten my doo reblonded and look at the result!

I'm loving super cold icy blonds at the moment so I decided to boldly step away from the mix of honey tones I usually get.

You ladies are delicious and make me feel like a princess! 

(Excuse my sweaty red face... Auckland's humidity is so blergh)

AND what do you think of my lime glasses? I'm still trying to get used to them... after an unfortunate incident my black-arty-fashiony-journo-blogger glasses are no longer in my wardrobe so I'm giving these ones a go :-) They feel so little!!!

Time to take on the world with MAC Cosmetics

Words cannot describe my excitement every time an email lands in my inbox from the lovely team at MAC Cosmetics! I literally sparkle inside! 

This week I got to attend the SS 11 trends presentation by Senior MAC Cosmetics artist Amber D with a group of other lovely ladies involved in online publishing. 

I am BURSTING with inspiration and cute quotes about SS 11 but I need to hold back and enjoy THIS season. Tis the trouble with the fashion world we are always in the future and often forget the now!

On the subject of taking on the world each day check out MAC's collaboration with Wonder Woman! Available internationally in March I am already putting away a few dollars to add a bit of POW to my makeup purse. I'm a fan of the Opulash mascara in Army of Amazons (Green) and Victorious (Purple). ALSO I'm lusting after pigments in Bright Fuchsia and Marine Ultra!
