Right now Louisa Wall's Marriage (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Bill is being read in New Zealand's Parliament. Tune in to Parliament TV and watch history being made.

Update: The bill passed the first reading 80 votes to 40! This is the bringing of a long process that could take 3-6 months but it feels pretty awesome to be a Kiwi right now. Long overdue!

With thousands of others I tuned into Parliament TV tonight to watch the action live. Here are some of the amazing speeches from across the political spectrum:

Louisa Wall introduces the bill to Parliament.

Nikki Kaye discusses why she supports the bill.

Kevin Hague talks about the real impact this bill will have on breaking down prejudice.

Check out the rest of the speeches at In The House.

Pretty cool day in our history!
